| GPS INTEGRATION |
 |
| Watch a livecast with integrated GPS (requires IE browser).
|
| Designed to take full advantage of mobile phones with integrated
GPS receivers, award winning Livecast automatically
embeds date, time and GPS coordinates from the phone into a
webcast (frame-by-frame), and archives the file on
a server. |
| Once Livecast is installed, users simply press the “start”
button and the phone will begin webcasting. At the same
time, the application will establish a data connection and stream
the video live with embedded data from the phone to a server
(using any wireless IP network ranging from GPRS to WiFi/WiMax).
From there, the video can be propagated to a webpage where managers
can watch what’s being shot in real time video, while also watching
a synchronized map displaying the exact location of the field
person’s transmission. As the field person moves, it is dynamically
tracked on the map, and the entire experience is a true broadcast
(one-to-many service). |
| Livecast with GPS integration solves a common problem
for service businesses worldwide—how to reliably, and cost effectively
validate data from field personnel. Currently, documentation
is most often provided as a hand-written report or entered as
text into a computer log, which is not easy to substantiate.
|
| For example, it is currently very difficult for a manager
to verify that service work has actually been performed at a
client site (e.g. industrial cleaners, machine maintenance and
repair); or that the that the current status of a situation
at a particular site is clearly reported and was actually visited
(safety/pipeline inspectors, construction project managers,
security), or that the information did indeed come from the
location reported (insurance adjustors). |
| Livecast is the first reliable, cost-effective, and easy-to-use
solution—appropriate for small businesses and large corporations—to
capture and archive field service data for internal management
and client invoicing. |
| There are three ways to add location data to your webcast: |
- If you have a supported phone with built-in GPS hardware
or triangulation, simply check and activate the "GPS" option
during set-up with the latest version of our Livecast
client. You can choose to display your location to viewers
in an adjoining map window on your webcast page
as you stream live video. The location data is stored with
your webcast for playback.
- Use a Bluetooth GPS device compatible with your mobile
phone. Pair the Bluetooth GPS device with your phone, select
and activate the "GPS" option on the set-up page in Livecast,
and then start webcasting. Again, the GPS location
data is automatically added to the frames of your webcast,
and viewers can follow your movement (or that of your handset!)
as they watch.
- No built-in GPS or device? Take advantage of our new
"Waypoint Database System" that includes waypoints for major
cities around the world. GPS waypoints are key references,
locations or landmarks in cities or regions. Waypoints can
be included in your webcast by selecting the "waypoint"
option on the set-up page for Livecast. Then as you
proceed with your webcast, you can specify
the waypoint tags using a simple pull-down menu on the webcast
page. Different waypoints can be specified, dynamically,
within a single webcast.
